How to install Atobi Web as an app

MacOS

Safari

Must have version 17 of Safari or above.

  • Open app.atobi.io or the link that has been sent to you in Safari.
  • Open a Channel and click on an article. You will then be asked if you would like to receive notifications. Click "Allow".
  • At the top right of the address bar, click on the Share button.

  • Click “Add to Dock”.

  • Click "Add".
  • Now the web app is installed and works like any other application.
  • If you later want to change your push notifications settings, you can open Safari settings and go to “Websites”, then “Notifications”, and find the website on the list. Then click Deny (to disable notifications) or Allow (to enable notifications).

Chrome

Must have version 121 or higher.


  • Open app.atobi.io or the link that has been sent to you in Chrome.
  • You will be asked if you want to install the app.

  • Click Install (or Remind me later, to get the option next week).
  • If the option doesn't show up, at the top right of the address bar, click on the Install button.

  • The app is installed and added to your app library. If you can't find it, search for the folder "Chrome Apps". 
  • Use the action menu (3 dots) to see the information about the app, including notification settings.

  • Click App Info.
  • Choose to allow or deny notifications.

MacOS Notification Center (for both Safari and Chrome)

How notifications are shown is controlled in System Settings > Notifications. Here you can also disable notifications, even if you allow them in the browser.

Android

Chrome

  • Open app.atobi.io or the link that has been sent to you in your Chrome.
  • Chrome detects it’s a webapp and asks if you want to install.
  • If the App is not asking, you can click the action menu (three dots) and choose “Install App”.
  • Click Install.
  • The app is added to home screen and you can now open it like any other app.

Notifications

  • When you open the app for the first time, an option to activate notifications will pop up.
  • If you already have your app installed or want to change your notification seetings, you can control notifications by opening Settings in Chrome (click the three dots and tap "Settings").
  • Click on "Notifications", then "In-app notification settings".
  • Under Managed by app you'll see the app, click on it, then click on "Notifications".
  • Enable Allow notifications.

iPhone

Safari


  • Open app.atobi.io or the link that has been sent to you in Safari.
  • Press the Share button.
  • Find and tap Add to Home Screen.
  • Click Add.
  • The app will now be on your home screen and you can use it like any other app.
