πŸ“– What is a Journey?

A journey is a type of article that lets you build a guided experience by organizing your content into sections. Members must complete the actions in one section before moving on to the next. This helps keep them focused and ensures they follow the intended path.

Journeys are great for:

  • βœ… Structured onboarding for new members
  • πŸ“¦ Engaging step-by-step product training
  • πŸ“š Progressive growth programs for store managers

πŸ” Key Differences from Articles

When you create a new article, you can pick between two types: a regular Article and a Journey β€” and you can’t switch between them later.

πŸ“ Article πŸ‘£ Journey
Members can view all content upfront Members complete one section at a time
All content is on a single page Content is split into sections
Members can complete actions in any order Sections and actions unlocks one-by-one

πŸ› οΈ How to Create a Journey

  1. Go to Article Studio
  2. Click Create Article
  3. Select New journey (instead of a regular article)

You’ll enter the journey editor where you can start building your flow. πŸ—οΈ

🧱 Journey Structure

The journey editor consists of:

  • πŸ–ΌοΈ A Cover Photo and Title for the journey
  • πŸ“‘ A sidebar view where you manage and view all your sections (you can drag and drop them here to change their order, or duplicate a section). Staff members will complete sections in the order you define in this sidebar.

Building the sections:

  1. πŸ”Ή Click the first section (automatically created)
  2. ✍️ Add a section heading
  3. 🧩 Drag and drop the blocks you'd like into the section: text, media, attachments, actions. πŸ“Ž Learn more about actions β†’
  4. βž• Click Add section to create a new section.

πŸ”’ A new section will only unlock for staff members once all actions in the previous section have been completed.

πŸ”” Important: You can create sections without actions, but those sections will be visible and unlocked for members from the beginning. We strongly advice that each section has at least 1 action - for the best unlocking experience.

πŸ’‘ Best Practices

  • Include at least one Action per section β€” this is what triggers the unlocking of the next section
  • Plan your content flow in advance to keep things clear and logical
  • Use visuals like images or videos to keep members engaged

Journeys are designed to be smooth and structured, helping your team learn and grow in a clear, step-by-step way.

πŸ”Ž Tip: In Article Studio, you can easily tell the difference between Articles and Journeys by the small icons shown on the cover images:

  • πŸ“„ Articles have a purple document icon
  • πŸ›€οΈ Journeys have a green connected path icon

This helps you quickly identify your content at a glance!
