SCORM Export

⚙️ SCORM export is an organizational setting that an Atobi Customer Support person must enable.

What is SCORM Export?

The Atobi SCORM export feature allows content to be exported and shared as a SCORM file. The content can then be imported into SCORM-compliant LMS tools.

Employees can play the Atobi content from the LMS tool. This allows them to complete courses and campaigns without leaving the platform they already use.

Note: Members must use Google Chrome to access the exported SCORM articles.

Atobi automatically creates user accounts for the store staff using the credentials from the LMS tool. This ensures that data, such as completion rates and skill scores, can be accurately tracked.

For more details on SCORM integration, read here.

Before Exporting the SCORM Package

Before you can export the SCORM package, there are a couple of steps that need to be taken:

  1. SCORM only supports articles published in an Easy Access Channel. Before exporting the package, Easy Access needs to be enabled for your platform. Read more about that here.
  2. A separate location needs to be created in the Location Hierarchy. This is the location that will have the external users, data, and action answers attached to it. Note: the location needs to be created as a Store type location.
  3. The created location needs to be part of the audience the article you will export is published to.
  4. The domain of the LMS tool that will receive the SCORM package must be added to the platform settings. To do that:
  • From the Web App, open Platform Settings.
  • Click on the three dots next to your domain and click Edit Settings.
  • Scroll down to the bottom.
  • Add the URL of the LMS tool. The URL link has to start with "https://".
  1. Identify the login method (email or username) used by the LMS tool where you will import the SCORM file. If your platform only uses email but the LMS tool requires usernames, contact our Customer Success team to enable the username option for you.

How to Export the SCORM Package

Note: When exporting SCORM, make sure you are logged in through your personal platform url, not the generic app.atobi.io url.

  1. Navigate to Article Studio.
  2. Open the article you want to export as a SCORM package.
  3. Ensure the article is published in an Easy Access channel and that the export location is part of the audience to which it has been published.
  4. Click the down arrow ⬇ next to "Republish".
  5. Click "Generate SCORM package."
  6. Pick which language you would like to export. If you want to export multiple language versions, each language needs to be exported as a seperate SCORM package as SCORM doesn't support multiple languages.
  7. Select the location where users and data should be gathered.
  8. Click "Generate".
  9. The downloaded SCORM package can now imported into the LMS tool.

Track Progress and Completion

When each employee opens the SCORM course, the Atobi player inside the SCORM package will automatically attempt to locate an employee with the student name and/or student ID received from the LMS. If the employee is not located, the Atobi SCORM player will create the user inside your platform and add it to the location selected when exporting the SCORM package.

Once the employee finishes answering the quiz and other actions inside the article, the Atobi player will report that progress is "Completed" and the Score the employee received to the LMS.

Reach, Completion, and Score can also be tracked inside the Atobi dashboards for a more detailed overview.
