📦 What is SCORM Export?

The SCORM Export feature allows you to convert Atobi articles into SCORM-compliant packages. These packages can be imported into any SCORM 1.2 compatible LMS, enabling employees to access Atobi content directly from their familiar LMS environment. This integration facilitates seamless course completion and campaign participation without switching platforms

Note: Members must use Google Chrome to access the exported SCORM articles.

🛠️ Before Exporting the SCORM Package

Before exporting a SCORM package, ensure the following prerequisites are met:

  1. Enable Easy Access: SCORM supports articles published in an Easy Access Channel. Ensure Easy Access is enabled for your platform.
  2. Create a Dedicated Location: Establish a separate location in the Location Hierarchy to associate external users and their data. This location should be of the Store type.
  3. Include Location in Audience: Ensure the newly created location is part of the audience for the article intended for export.

Whitelist LMS Domain: Add the LMS tool's domain to Atobi's platform settings:

    • Navigate to Platform Settings.
    • Click the three dots next to your domain and select "Edit Settings".
    • Scroll to the bottom and add the LMS URL, ensuring it starts with "https://".
  4. Verify Login Method Compatibility: Confirm the LMS's login method (email or username). If discrepancies exist, contact Atobi's Customer Success team to adjust settings accordingly.

📤 How to Export the SCORM Package

Note: When exporting SCORM, make sure you are logged in through your personal platform url, not the generic app.atobi.io url.

Follow these steps to export an article as a SCORM package:

  1. Access Article Studio: Log in through your personal platform URL and navigate to Article Studio.
  2. Select the Article: Open the article you wish to export. Ensure it's published in an Easy Access channel and includes the export location in its audience.

    Initiate SCORM Export:

    • Click the down arrow next to "Republish".
    • Select "Generate SCORM package".

      Configure Export Settings:

    • Language: Choose the export language. For multiple languages, export separate SCORM packages for each, as SCORM doesn't support multiple languages in one package.
    • Location: Select the location where user data will be gathered.
  3. Generate and Download: Click "Generate" to create the SCORM package. Once generated, download the package for LMS import.

📈 Track Progress and Completion

When an employee accesses the SCORM course, Atobi's player attempts to match the user based on credentials received from the LMS. If no match is found, a new user is created in Atobi under the designated location. Upon course completion, Atobi reports the user's progress and score back to the LMS. Additionally, metrics like reach, completion, and scores are available within Atobi's dashboards for comprehensive analysis.

🌟 Why Integrate SCORM with Atobi?

Integrating SCORM with Atobi offers several advantages:

  1. Enhanced Accessibility: Employees can access Atobi's rich content directly from their familiar LMS environment, streamlining the learning process.
  2. Consistent User Management: Automatic user account creation ensures synchronization between Atobi and the LMS, reducing administrative overhead.
  3. Comprehensive Tracking: Both Atobi and the LMS can monitor user progress and performance, providing valuable insights into training effectiveness.
