Article Languages

Publishing Articles in several languages

If your organization is spread across multiple countries, you might need to have articles available in different languages. And Atobi is here to help you with this.

Language: Each Article has a Main Language. The Main language is used as a fallback and for editing. Let’s say the Main language of an article is Spanish. If any audience members with French as their primary language have access to an article that has not been translated into French, they will get Spanish (Main Language) instead.

How to add an additional language

If you need your article available in multiple languages, follow these steps:

  1. Click on “Languages"
  2. Click on “Language Settings"
  3. Choose what language you want for the article by clicking on the drop-down menu
  4. Search and select the language you need

Notice: You can only add and delete blocks from the Main Language. Additional languages are only for translating and localizing the content.

How to change your main language

If you want another language as the Main language, follow these steps:

  1. Click on “Languages"
  2. Click on “Language Settings"
  3. Click on the options menu (3 dots next to the language you want as your Main Language)
  4. Click on Set as Main Language

The Main Language has now been updated.

Remember that blocks can only be added and deleted from the Main Language. Additional languages are only for translating and localizing

Give other people access to translate the article

If you have added any additional languages to your article and you need help translating, follow these steps:

  1. Click on “Languages"
  2. Click on “Language Settings"
  3. Click on the collaborator icon (the icon next to the 3 dots)
  4. Search for or select the person you want to add as a collaborator

  1. Notice: People need to have an account in Atobi and need access to Article Studio.
  2. By default, collaborators will have access to all languages. Click on the options menu (3 dots) if you want them only to have access to some of the languages.
  3. You can copy a link and share it with the collaborators.

Notice: Collaborators can access and see all languages of the article when they are editing. But they can only change the language you have permitted them to. From “Language Settings”, you have an overview of all the collaborators and languages of your article.
