β What Are Channels?
In Atobi, Channels are how you organize content and deliver it to your team. They help keep things structured, relevant, and easy to access.
There are two types of Channels:
π Board Channels - for Articles
Board Channels are used to publish structured articles - content designed to guide, inform, or train your team. These are ideal for:
- π Training Programs - Step-by-step onboarding, product knowledge, or skills training
- π¦ Campaign Rollouts - Product launches, marketing plans, or seasonal updates
- π Store Operations - Instructions, guidelines, or compliance checklists
- π― Tasks and Goals - Content with deadlines, recurring actions, or progress tracking
Articles in Board Channels can include various interactive elements like quizzes, polls, and tasks, making them suitable for guiding users through structured content.
Only editors with access to Article Studio can publish content in Board Channels.
π¬ Feed Channels - for Feed Posts
Feed Channels are used for feed posts - shorter, informal updates like team moments, celebrations, or localized news. These are great for:
- π£οΈ Engagement - Peer-to-peer conversations or inspiration across teams
- π Celebrating Achievements: Recognizing team successes or milestones.
- πΈ Sharing Updates: Posting photos, videos, or quick updates from the field.
- π Localized Feeds - Posts relevant to a market, region, or store group
Feed posts are typically shorter and more informal than articles, allowing for quick sharing and interaction among team members.
You can set who can post and who can view posts in a Feed Channel using Feed Groups.

π‘ How Feed Groups Work
Feed Groups control who can post and who can view/react in your Feed Channel.
- Each group can include one or more audiences
- For each audience, you assign a role:
- Creators β can post and react
- Viewers β can only view and react
This gives you flexibility to manage access for global, regional, or store-level communicationβall within the same channel.
π‘ Feed Group Use Cases
Here are a few examples of how you can structure Feed Groups:
π Open social feed
β Add all audiences as Creators in one group
β Everyone can post and interact
π’ Top-down news feed
β Add managers as Creators, and staff as Viewers
β Only HQ can post; everyone else can read/react
π° Store-level updates
β Create one group per store (e.g., βStore 101β, βStore 102β)
β Store managers are Creators, store staff are Viewers
β Managers can post updates to their own store team; teams only see content for their store
π Market-specific feeds
β Create one group per market (e.g., Germany, France)
β Members only see and interact within their own market group
β Members will only see and interact with content in the group(s) they belong to. This makes it easy to manage communication at multiple levelsβglobal, regional, or localβwithin a single Feed Channel.
π Pinning Channels for Quick Access (Mobile)
